Armais Kamalov is a graduate of the Pirogov Medical University. He upgraded his skills in the residency program at the Institute of Surgery n.a. A.V. Vishnevsky, worked at the Research Institute of Urology of the Ministry of Healthcare of the RSFSR, served as Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Uronephrology and Human Reproductive Health at the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Since 2014, he has been working as the Head of the Medical Scientific and Educational Center of Lomonosov MSU.
A year ago, the Moscow State University clinic under the leadership of Armais Kamalov was at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus in the Russian capital. At the level of the government of the Russian Federation and the mayor of Moscow, it was decided to include the Medical Scientific and Educational Center of Lomonosov MSU in the pool of medical institutions that would combat the pandemic. The Moscow State University clinic was one of the first in Moscow to begin accepting COVID patients.

The name of Armais Kamalov, doctor and scientist, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, is well known in the medical circles in Russia and abroad. Armais Kamalov is a member of the European Association of Urologists, the World Endourological Society, the International Society of Urology, and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. He is the author of over 250 scientific papers, a wide variety of textbooks, monographs, and a number of inventions. Armais Kamalov is a winner of the “Vocation” prize in the nomination “For the Creation of a New Field in Medicine”, winner of the N.A. Lopatkin prize “For the Contribution to the Development of Russian Urology”.
Along with medical and scientific activities, Armais Kamalov does a great job of helping his community. He is in charge of the Heritage and Progress Foundation for the Development and Support of Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Initiatives. According to Armais Kamalov, the foundation’s activities are focused on supporting and developing Russian-Armenian ties, strengthening relations between the two peoples with a great culture and age-old tradition of cooperation. The Chairman of the foundation emphasizes that their primary goal is to establish close ties between Armenia and Russia in humanitarian corridors.
“We strive to popularize the famous names of outstanding citizens of the Soviet Union,” stresses Armais Kamalov in an interview with the Noev Kovcheg newspaper. “By paying tribute to them, we turn to the past as our heritage, and at the same time create a platform for progress in our relations based on the example of their life and work.”
The patriot of Russia and Armenia, his second homeland, Armais Kamalov believes that “the time has come when we, the diaspora, need to use this real opportunity and exercise the right to participate in the resolution of issues of Armenia’ internal political life. The diaspora can become not only a donor for Armenia, but also a full-fledged participant in its life. We need to boost the economy of Armenia and ensure its competitiveness. It is necessary to build the correct internal government structure, to guarantee an education, work, the possibility of professional and personal growth for everyone.
